Planning: Travel out of Nuln (part 4)

Which ever route the Vagabonds take out of Nuln, I am going to need some rumours. Some for the River and some for the Vorbergland.

Rumours on the River

  • There's a new crew of wreckers west of Kemperbad, nasty buggers too.  Foreshadows the wrecker's encounter (See Planning: Travel out of Nuln (part 2)).

  • The Elections in Kemperbad last year were a bit of an upset. Several labour guilds pitched in together to buy a seat on the council, and now town politics is all gummed up. Sets the scene for  future events in Kemperbad, if the Vagabonds choose to spend much time there.

  • Someones' been buying up all the charcoal produced 'tween Nuln and Kemperbad, and it's been pushing up the price of charcoal in the 'ole o' Reikland. It'll push up the cost of everything soon 'nough. After all, charcoals used in a lot of stuff. Foreshadows Blackpowder week

  • If your stopping in Kemperbad, and have an interest in trade, you could do worse than to pick up a copy of the most recent issue of Commercial Intelligence. It really is invaluable. This leads to The Music of Herr Zahnn.

  • Don't try the Lorley unless your well rested. The best place to stop, if your heading out of Nuln, if an inn called The Three Feathers. Right by the river, has  good anchorage, and comfortable beds. This leads to Rough Night at the Three Feathers.

  • Their building a load of signal towers, and a few of them are along the reik. Keep an eye out of them, you might see them on the way. This foreshadows elements of Death on the Reik.

  • Yela Holtsgutter's the oldest huffer on the reik must be the oldest person in the empire. They say she'd been working the reiker marshes since the time of Magnus. Fore shadows the meeting with Yela. (See Planning: Travel out of Nuln (part 2))

  • The migration of entertainers west, for the Schaffenfest, seems to have started early this year. Watch your purses, and be aware that by the time you reach altdorf, ever bar and inn is going to be heaving with jugglers, singers, players and pickpockets, all wanting to make a bit of coin to last them til Mitterfruhl. A first mention of the Schaffenfest to help start putting it into the Vagabonds minds.

  • PLANT have been holding some protests, claiming that the Veteran's Winter Fuel Allowance has been cut. When I left, they'd were "occupying" Zoat Park near Börsenzentrum. Foreshadowing that all in not well in Altdorf

  • Some big expedition being planned, a trip into the gray mountains by all accounts. Foreshadowing Wanted Bold adventurers.

Rumours in Ranald's Garden

  • I hear some Orphan went missing in Dunkelburg, a nasty business.

  • Orc and Goblin raids out of the grey mountains were especially bad in the autumn. Hopefully thins will be a bit quieter through winter.

  • A Warrior-Priest of Sigmar passed through these parts but a few weeks ago. Came in on a great dappled destrier, and rode right up to the local Shrine of Sigmar. I tell you what, I have never seen a man who looked as fierce or angry as he did, and a lot of folks scattered at the sight of him. Anyway, there was a lot of shouting, and then sudden like, it went quiet. Anyway, shortly after, he came out, and the rode off again, heading west. When we finally got up the nerve, we looked in the shrine, and there was Father Mathaas, his head stoved in, and a bunch of coin scattered around him. Following up on this leads to A meeting with Luthor Huss.

  • The local lord has called up the militia to do winter drills. Can't remember the last time that happened. Relates to the fall of Ubersreik

  • Three witches were burnt in one day in Ruhfurt on hexenstag. Ruhfurt? Thats near Dunkelburg.  Anyway, seems to me like witch burnings are getting more common.  Guess the Witch Hunter's pockets are getting a bit light. The witch hunters have very full pockets, thanks to the approaching end times and more potential wizards being born.

  • A company of mercinaries came through not two days back. Almost 300 men. Mostly pikemen, but also crossbowmen. They were marching west in a hurry. Relates to the fall of Ubersreik

  • Rutger Reuter, a merchant, and his partner,  Johanna Stiegler, are building a large mill near Grausee. By all accounts they are hiring talent for the job in Ubersreik. Foreshadows If looks could kill, and can lead into it

  • A Witch Hunter named Hannah Gaumann passed through these parts about a month back, then about a week later, these two disreputable types came though asking after her. Anyway, turns out they were after Gaumann cause she's gone rogue. Killed off most of the people in a hamlet, cause she "needed to be sure the rot was cleansed" by all accounts; there is quiet a price on her head. Foreshadows Bait and Witch

  • My brother-in-law headed off to Elssen, near ubersreik, to see his cousins. He never came back, the backroads around there must be getting pretty dangerous. Following up on this leads to Night of Blood

In other news, I and a bunch of other creator, have work in this.
It is astounding value and the funds go a great cause.
